Another option, which I’m not sure is available to you would be trying *67 blocks your phone number and *82 unblocks your phone number… If you want to block her from calling you call the phone company and put a block on incoming calls that do not show their number.

If you’re calling someone who has Anonymous Call Rejection service, and you block your number from being shown, your call will be diverted to a recorded message telling you that the called party does not accept blocked calls and to unblock before calling, or the call won’t go through. People who use ACR usually want to see who is calling them, and don’t want to take anonymous calls. However, ACR subscribers can de-activate the ACR feature by dialing *87 and re-activate it by dialing *77

that is the method that you use to send the call from your phone to trap calls toll free number, where it obtains the ANI info of the caller, and then sends the call back to you…

It is worth a try…

Other then that, if trapcall will not work for you, there is no way to unmask a private caller…

I’m not entirely sure, perhaps not in the US legal system. But If I were you I’d collect as much evidence as you can of the current harrassment calls etc. Being able to unmask calls with Trapcall will definitely assist you in gathering evidence like phone numbers and here’s a tip, trapcall even has the ability to record those blocked calls for you, this feature comes with the Bear trap option, might prove very useful in your case. Caller ID faker sometimes may cost money, but because you used it only for the trial period, it should not charge you. Caller ID faking is a service provided by a 3rd-party, e.g. Spoofpin. So you basically dial SpoofPIN and they will change your caller ID. There is no reason your cell company should charge you any other than your local minutes for such a call. I am hoping that the number you dialed was a local number. Well if you jailbreak the iphone and download a program called “spoof 2.1… Something” you can spoof caller id’s. He’d be calling from like 666 or from your own number. At first when I didn’t know I was like wtf? Because I’d be getting calls from the same number… And he could change his voice and record the conversation. HR 1258 or the “truth in caller ID act” only makes knowingly spoofing your caller ID illegal IF you “knowingly transmit misleading or inaccurate caller ID information with the intent to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value.”

Sadly there isn’t. The reason the Trapcall service now costs is because they are simply a business, they would have gone out of business with their old business structure. I dont know what your phone policy is but most companies will help you. If not you can call your local police department. Just one phone call can be considered harrassment and what the cops or the company will do is set a Trap for the caller so when they call they can trace it and they can get in a lot of trouble for it. You can see if *57 works for your phone. Directly after they call dial that and it should take you to Call Trace and they can help you get the number. Otherwise you might just have to invest in a small Trapcall plan.

If it is a listed land line number you could try whitepages.com, anywho.com, 411.com, switchboard.com.

If it is unlisted then this method won’t work. It will not work for cell phone numbers too as they are considered private information.

There is only way you can do a free reverse lookup for both the above cases. That is using the Internet search engines – google, msn, yahoo. Just type the phone number in the search book and hit the search button.

You may not succeed on the first try. Try out different combinations like putting the number with in quotes, using the area code, and any other details you might in combinations. You might just be lucky and get the information you are looking for.

If nothing works try http://www.trace-a-phone-number.com service which is reverse lookup service that offers excellent value for money. If you are not satisfied with the results then ask for a refund!

It is probably a spam call. They do this to us alot. They are looking to see if you have a fax machine hooked up and if you do, they will send you some bogus fax. Very irritating. Click one of the buttons that says try trap call, either bug trap, mouse trap or a bear trap and you should be able to sign up for it, no downloading, installing or anything, its really cool. The pranksters call in private you dont answer it, let it go to missed call and it keeps ringing on the pranksters line, then it comes through as unmasked. You can search also and it will show you, hope this helped. This works great on a cell phone too.
